With a Master’s in Public Administration and Political Justice Studies, I have dedicated over two decades to serving our community. My roles as former District 151 PTA President,  a former substitute teacher and employee within District 205 have provided me with valuable insights into the educational landscape of our community. These experiences have equipped me with the knowledge and commitment necessary to advocate effectively for our students, families, and educators.

Enhancing Educational Excellence

Aligned with South Holland School District 151’s mission to provide all students with an excellent education in a wholesome, nurturing environment, I aim to address key issues impacting our schools to increase student success.

To boost student achievement, I propose:

• Increase Addressing Chronic Absenteeism. Recognizing that consistent attendance is crucial for learning, I will work to implement strategies to reduce absenteeism, such as engaging with families to understand barriers and promoting a culture that values regular attendance. 
• Enhancing Literacy Programs: Early literacy is foundational for academic success. I will advocate for evidence-based reading programs that emphasize phonics and comprehension skills, ensuring our students develop strong reading abilities from the start.​

Commitment to School Safety

The safety of our students and staff is paramount. In light of national concerns, I pledge to:

• Implement Comprehensive Safety Protocols. Collaborate with local law enforcement and safety experts to regularly review and update our emergency procedures, ensuring preparedness for various scenarios.

• Promote Mental Health Support: Recognize the importance of mental well-being in preventing safety incidents by increasing access to counselors and mental health resources for students and staff.

By focusing on these areas, I am committed to fostering a secure and thriving educational environment where every student can excel. Together, we can build a brighter future for our children and community.
